On my part, I have seen the lovely and baffling "Last Year in Marienbad," which I remember thinking had a challenging plot (if there was one) but had this otherworldly romance at its center, much like "Morel."
One of the other comparisons was to the 1987 English horror film "Bloody New Year," but in my professional opinion, that's bollocks. BOLLOCKS!

I don't play video games either, or watch much TV. Tried watching "Lost," but couldn't get into it. I haven't seen "Last Year at Marienbad," but have heard a lot about it, also "Man Facing Southeast." May check those out.
ReplyDeleteI had read that Louise Brooks (who's on the cover of my Morel book) was partly the inspiration for our book. I like her because she's from Kansas and — OK, not ladylike! but interesting — bragged about sleeping with Greta Garbo.
I'm not familiar with any of the works listed. It would be fun to read/see some of them now!
