Setting in the mist
I count on details about setting to help me picture a story while I'm reading, and in this case I had trouble getting a feel for when this story was set. What do you think? In the form of dreams I don't know that it matters, unless a deliberate intent to set it back in time adds more information to a surreal set of stories.

The first and last stories felt older to me, like maybe they happened mid 20th century or so. The war mentioned in the last one I assumed to be World War II. I'd have to go back and check if there were any specifics given.
ReplyDeleteThe middle three felt more modern, like maybe they are happening when the girls are adults? Like a couple of decades later or so?
I read this several weeks ago, so I need to refresh my memory.
